Grand Knight Report

I hope that Christmas Day was a joyful and healthy day for all.

December was a busy month for our Council. I want to thank all the members and their families that attended the Lite Up for Christ ceremony. The attendance was very impressive. Thank you to Rev. Fr. Keaveney for taking the time out of his busy December schedule. so that he could lead us in prayer as the lights were lit. Also, thank you to the St. Mary's Children's Choir for performing so well as they sang Christmas carols.

The busy month continued with the Children's Christmas Party, the Adult Christmas Party and the New Years Eve Party. Thank you to all the chairman and their staff for donating the time to the council this month. You all made the members, their families and friends enjoy the Christmas spirit.

As most of you know, we have formed the new association for the Council. It is now called " Our Lady of Lourdes Benevolent Association". This association may help us to stabilize the financial burden that we have endured over the last couple of years. The By- Laws have been formed and approved by the Council and the Officers have been elected. Congratulation to all the Officers that have accepted and elected to this Association. I am confident that they will help make this Council financially stable.

January seems to be a quiet month, but then we start getting very busy. The Super Bowl party will be on February 3rd, 2008. This is one of the best parties in Orange County. The boxes will be sold out fast, so make sure you have one before January 30th 2008.

After the Super Bowl we will start our annual Fish Fry on the Friday after Ash Wednesday which is February 6th 2008. The Fish Fry will start at 5:00pm after the Stations of the Cross at 4:30pm. Help is needed each and every Friday so that we are able to serve a complete meal for seven weeks of Lent. It is also important that we notify all our friends and neighbors about this function as this it can generate much needed funds to the Council.

In closing, I want to wish a very happy and healthy New Year to all.
